Mission Accountable Day 26: A rough night, a jog, and a little politics (really, just a little)

Today began for me around 3 or 4am, so…. it’s been a loooong day. I think Sweet Pea must have sensed I was blogging about how great it was to consistently get good sleep and she thought it would be funny to mess with me. So anyway, I’m not gonna bore you with the details about how there was nursing, crying, more nursing, snots, temperature taking from the middle of the night through daybreak… I guess the good part was I was up before my alarm. I’m not ashamed to say that by the time I was showered, dressed, and breakfasted and out the door to head to work for half a day, I was relieved to leave Sweet Pea’s care in the babysitter’s hands.

This afternoon, I took Sweet Pea for a jog in the BOB stroller. It was the hardest slow run I’ve done in a while. Just pushing the stroller probably adds a minute per mile to your pace, yet it feels like you are running at least a minute per mile faster than you would normally run, as far as perceived effort. I admit to stopping to walk for a bit just because I lacked motivation and energy to keep running. I didn’t have my Garmin, but I would estimate I covered 5 miles, but ran about 4.5 of that.

Tonight I had a few friends over. We mostly talked about girl stuff, except we watched the last ten minutes or so of the debate. I hate seeing all the chatter on Facebook and then having to Google everything to make sense of what they are talking about. Except I had a hard time watching the debate. I just don’t like the look of Mitt Romney’s Ken doll face. There’s a lot of things I can’t stand about him; his face is just the tip of the iceberg. I really hope we don’t have to look at it for the next four years. Have you seen this hilarious Mitt Romney Gangnam Style parody? I giggle every time I watch it.
